A Special Message

On my birthday I received quite a few cards. All of them were very beautiful and very thoughtful howecer, there was this one card that my GM gave me that specifically spoke to the next level of how I am making a MUCH MORE CONSCIENCE EFFORT EVERYDAY to live my life in 2008 and on. (Had this been a few years ago, I probably would have said what a coincidence. But because I am a believer I know that with God there are no coincidences).
Remember that I told you on my B-day God allowed me to experience living life in true liberty and now HE allowed GM to send me a card that confirmed this next level that HE wants me to experience. I am so humbly amazed that God never forgets the little details.

Ok, so I just wanted to take the time to share the 8 steps of Life's Legacies written on the card by Hallmark. (You did know that 8 is the number of new beginnings, right?). :)

Live Deep: Never stop learning, playing, or finding wonder in the world around you. Live the length of your life, but live the depth of it as well.

Travel Light: There is no use in carrying around worry or regret. They only weigh you down. Always keep yourself open to hope and to love. They give us wings.

Forgive imperfection: In yourself and others. Imperfections keep things interesting. They're cracks where the light shines through.

Own beautiful things: And not just keep them in the drawer, tucked away for a perfect day. Surround yourself with things that make you happy, that remind you of the beauty all around us if we keep our eyes open to it.

Make Mistakes: Follow detours. Sometimes it takes an unexpected turn to help us find life that is waiting for us around the bend. Trust yourself and the path that is
meant for you.

Take care of yorself: And sometimes that means you need icecream. Be good to your body, but also to your mind and spirit. You"re the only one who can.

(#8) And always know that you are loved, you are a gift to the world and a blessing to me. And that will never change.

(C) Hallmark...

May you take these steps and incorporate them into your journey of Life Legacies.

Be Blessed and Be a Blessing to someone else.

With Much Love,

S.A.W.

Living In Liberty...

12/09-Today was my B-day and this week has been an awesome week. From training and a mini vacation in LA to a fun filled b-day weekend. It was good seeing old friends from school, a joyful time of fellowship with current and new friends and on today dinner with my family made my birthday extra special.

Through this whole experience, I have learned that no matter what is thrown ur way try to enjoy life as much as you can. Just like my Bishop said today it's nothing like the peace that you experience from yourself. This is so true, because majority of the time its us stressing ourself out about what's next, the bills, the negative thoughts, reruns of negative situations we play over in our heads and much much more.

I believe God revealed to me today what its like to truly live in liberty and peace. So from this day forth I am striving a little harder to live a life of Liberty and Peace.

So I say to you sing like no ones listening, dance like no one's looking, worship like no one's watching, give unexpectedly, love unconditionally, serve as if u were serving the Lord face to face, forgive as if it was ur last day on earth and be a witness for Jesus as if it was ur fulltime job.

His word says that He came so that we may have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). So before the new year begins, let's get in the habit of learning to be comfortable in our liberty and peace...

God Bless,
S.A.W.

BE EASY... If it's meant to be it will be...

Ok today after work I was rushing to get to the hair shop before 5pm because they closed at 5:30. Remind you, I left work at 5 and the time this situation happened it was about 5:15pm. So I was about a block away from the hair shop when I saw a parking spot and I decided to pull in the parking space but then thought I don't think I could park here. So I put on my left blinker to indicated I was pulling out and you how when your at a red light and you see someone pulling out or trying to pull out ur first initial thought should be to let them go infront? Ok so this was the case with me, when I was pulling out instead of the guy stopping to let me in, he blocked me in and then turned around trying to look through the window to see if he could see something; you know how they do. So I looked at him then while turning my head away from him (lol I didn't want any beef) I said in a semi nice way, "Don' t look over here you didn't want to let me go, you should've e just let me in". You know how we talk to ourselves in the car. :). I guess he saw me moving my lips lol, or it probably was a test of character, he pulled his car back so that I could get in front of him.

Can I tell you that when he did that I was so grateful I put on a big smile looked over at him and said thank you and as I pulled up closer to the hair salon there was park right in front of the door waiting for me.

Ok so what's the moral of this story, BE EASY! Don't get impatient, don't get frustrated, don't become annoyed and most importantly don't get nasty, for its all not worth worth. For every opportunity brings the chance for you to demonstrate your dedication to becoming more and more like Christ.

We are in this together, so let's continue to pray for each other that we will never fail another test again.

PS# did I mention that I was still able to get my hair done. :)

Never Miss The Opportunity to be a Blessing to Someone.

Readers you are getting a double portion of me today.

Well on my way back home and I am on a train back into Manhattan, there was a man sitting next to me who got off the train before I did. When he got off, I saw something drop in front of my foot and I didn't look down immediately because I wasn't sure if it was actually something that dropped. So about 3 seconds later I looked down at my feet and I saw that the man that just exited the train dropped his hat. I picked it up and my intentions were to try and go after him but when I got up from my seat other people were getting on the train and I didn't think that I would have time to catch the guy. So with out really actually trying to catch the person who dropped their hat, I just sat back down.

Can I be honest and tell you that I was just a little bit disappointed with myself. I realized that because I thought that it would be a bit of a hassel to push my way through the crowd to get the man his hat, that man would have to walk out in the cold with no hat on hiis head. I thought wow such a simple test of character check and I failed because my feelings dictated to me the wrong thing. So now that I have asked the Lord to forgive me for not fullfilling the assignment that he gave me at that particular moment to fullfill; I pray that I never miss the opportunity to be a blessing to someone else another day in my life.

Being a blessing to someone dosnt always come in the form of these words: money or buy. But it also comes in the following words, which also to me meant a lot more: servanthood, time, words of wisdom, encouragment, kindness and thoughtfulness, just to name a few. So as you read this think how you can seize the opportunity to be a blessing to someone and may it be a blessing to you.

God Bless.

There Is Constant Communication In A Relationship!

As I was on the train today there was a couple that entered the train at the Pavonia Newport stop; they were married with two children. When we arrived at one of the stops the children started to become tired of standing. A lady that was sitting in a seat exited the train leaving one seat available. Another lady who was already sitting alerted the woman, with the two children, that there was a seat available. The mom said thank you and sent one of her children to occupy the seat. The other child got a little upset and started to cry a little, desiring to sit as well. When the woman that alerted the mom saw how sad the child was, she attempted to give up her seat for the child but the mom said "no no that's ok, he will be ok, u sit". So later down the journey the same child, that wanted to sit so badly, nealed on the floor and that's when a man gave up his seat allowing the child to occupy it. Again the mom said no no, its ok but he insisted. A little later a women got up from her seat, because she was getting off on the next stop, and she told the woman with the children that she could sit but again, she said "No u sit I'm ok" and the lady mentioned to her that she was getting on on the next stop. Finally the mother took a seat without feeling as if she was imposing on anyone. (The mom really did appear to be a nice person).

Ok so u wonder what was that story about. Well I have discovered that when we have a relationship with Christ he is constantly in communication with us. Whether it be talking directly to us, or using situations to get our attention. I have learned that no matter what I do in my everyday schedule when it comes to the end of the day I should be able to reflect on something that God wanted to show me, tell me or come to understand on that day.

Sort of like when you send to child to school in the AM and he/she comes back home in the afternoon we tend to ask them "how was their day, what did they learn." Just as we may ask the children and wait for an answer, we must be ready to report to our Lord at the end of the day what it was that we have experienced through him on that day.

What I learned this morning?
Just from this train ride in this morning I took away what I believe God wanted me to discover and that is that this is the season of increase for us and those around us. The season of undeniable and obvious favor. We must humble ourselves and receive all that God wants to give us in this season. If we automatically look for the big blessings, we will miss the "smaller" blessings which will help us to notice "bigger" blessings.

So take a seat on the train sit back and enjoy the ride and be exceedly thankful and glad about which ever way God wants to show forth his favor in your life.

I love you with the Love of Christ. (I really do). :) and I pray that that God allows this message to be a blessing to you just as much as it was for me. Be Blessed and have awesome weekend.

A TIME OF THANKS

In our everyday life there should be a constant prayer to the Lord thanking HIM for who HE is, what HE has done and what is about to take place for the glory of the Lord.

However, because of the demands that life places on our daily schedules, sometimes we fall victim to becoming so busy that we forgot to stop and give thanks to the Lord simply for the air we breathe, the steps we take, our families, friends, our jobs(although it keeps us busy), the words we speak, etc. So on this day, Thanksgiving Day, let's carve some time out and personally write a thank you list to God. Literally, take about 10-15 minutes out of your day and think of all the things that HE has done for you up until this hour. Once you are done read it out loud to yourself and watch how it gives you such a greater feeling of appreciation for life and the Creator who created it.

On this day, I pray that you find yourself bathing in the abundance of joy, peace, patiece, love and gratefulness.

Happy Thanksgiving.

When U Love The Lord...

Today while in prayer as I was praying Romans 8:28 became alive in me and I just begin to feel an enormous sense of gratefulness. The scripture reads, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” I begin to think of the things that I have gone through, the things that I way be going through and the tricks & distractions that the enemy set around me to try to divert me from my walk in Christ and no matter what it was or what it is, they all have worked and are working together to make me into the “perfect” person God has created me to be. I know sometimes we may get off track because we thought we heard the Lord regarding a particular situation in our life, I know that I have definitely been there. Nevertheless, no matter what I have done in the pass, if I happen to get off course in the future, no matter what trials may come my way, I am comforted in knowing that it will all work out for my good and God will ultimately receive all of the Glory.

When we grow to “love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength” (Mark 12:30), we will always find comfort, peace and joy in Him. May God continue to bless you and mature you into the person he has created you to be.

With the Abundance of Love,

Samiyyah

"THOSE WHO MATTER"

Hello Everyone,

I have written in a while, but I am going to make a promise to get back on ball because such great things have been happening and many I want to share. Ok so one thing I do try to do every single day is to read “The Word For Today”. I think this is such an awesome, healthy and necessary habit, because there’s just so much in there you will always find that you needed to read that word for that particular day. Ok so on Monday November 5, I read the following passage and it helped me to reflect, once again, on the relationships that are in my life to strengthen me, push me to another level and those that are there just to consume time and space. So as you read the passage below reflect on those relationships that you need to invest more time into and show a greater appreciate for and those that you need to withdraw your life savings from and spend less time with the broker. Always remember there's a reason, a season or a lifetime.

The Word For Today
On Monday -11/5/07
“I Thank My God Every Time I Remember You.” - Philippians 1:3 NIV

Those who matter
There’s a true story of a little boy whose sister needed a blood transfusion. The doctor explained she had the same disease that he’d recovered from 2 years earlier. Her only chance of recovery was a transfusion from someone who’d conquered it, so the boy was the ideal donor. “Would you gibe your blood to Mary?” the doctor asked. Johnny hesitated, his lower lip trembled, and then he smiled and said, “Sure, for my sister.” Soon the two children were wheeled into the hospital room – Mary, pale and thin; Johnny, robust and health. Neither spoke, but when their eyes met Johnny grinned. But as the nurse inserted the needle into his arm Johnny’s smile faded. He watched the blood flow through the tube. With the ordeal almost over Johnny’s voice, slightly shaky, broke the silence. “Doctor, when do I die?” Only then did the doctor realize why little Johnny had hesitated, why his lips trembled when he agreed to donate his blood. HE thought giving his blood to his sister meant giving up his life. In that brief moment he had made his great decision. Who would give their life for you? Those are the people you want to invest your life in. Those are the ones you need to show your appreciation for- now, while you still can. They are irreplaceable! When they’re gone you’ll realize that. Some of the things you’re striving for now will seem empty then. Some of the things you’re upset over now will seem insignificant then. So squeeze the most out of every moment. Create memories you’ll treasure. Be wise; build your life around those who matter!

With All That's Going On in the World Today

I haven't written in a while and today I am feeling inspired to write. With all that is going on in the body of Christ I can not help but to think that the world is asking us where is God; the one that we say we worship, the one that we claim to be our healer or deliverer our provider, the one that says no weapon formed against us shall prosper? Well I thought about it and my answer to the questioon is that God is still here. He is the same God yesterday, today and forever more. He has not left us nor forsaken us, just like He said. With all that is going on in the world especially in the body of Christ, I am learning not to be a “spectator” but rather a person of constant prayer, for myself, my family and the body of Christ. Always be reminded that the thing we judge and criticize our neighbor about can easily become our issue the moment we taken our eyes off God.

You may have heard the scripture “what God joins together let no man put asunder”. (Mathew 19:4-6) This means that if God ok'd you to marry your spouse in that particular season of your life and then trials began to come you need to be reminded and encouraged of this scripture and know that nothing is able to separate that vow you made before God to your spouse, as long as you stay in the presence of God. I bet your saying how would I know, your not even married. But the truth of the matter is that I am convinced that the same concept applies with everything else in our lives, receiving a miraculous healing and then years later you receive a bad report, purchasing a new home and then you lose your job, financial struggles, dealing with difficult children, a business in the dry season, etc. There will always be a time where we are tempted to doubt what God has already said or done and it is up to us to stand still, not be shaken and know that if he said it then its already done. If he has done it no man can ever undue it.

God gives us choices and sometimes we may need to reflect everyday about the decisions that are before us, just to make sure that we are moving in the Will of God. In him is where we get our strength to fight the enemy that is so easily waiting to deceive us. The moment we take our eyes off God the enemy is right their to feed us the beautiful LOOKING fruit of anxiousness, jealousy, un-forgiveness, haughtiness, unloving and doubting ways and if our eyes are closed we will eat of that which is poison to our life just because it smells good. So I say to you let the character of God be evident in the things you do. Never give up on what you know God has given you and remember that the battle is not yours, it belongs to the Lord. After doing all but stand, stand and see the salvation of the Lord. Don't worry about what everyone else is doing, but let who you are and what you do be the example to the world that God is real, and He is all that His word says that He is. Just as a friend of mine just recently told me, and I leave with you today, "I love you but Jesus loves you more".

My Prayer:
Lord I ask that you guard my ears and eyes along with my neighbors that are reading this today. Allow our heart to be free from any burdens, let our thoughts be so in tuned with the word of God that we allow you to order our every step. Even as things continue to happen and we don’t quite understand it but it is at that moment Lord that we ask you to teach us to pray before publicizing; bridle our tongues and convict our hearts from saying anything that is not pleasing to you. Give us the strength we need to press forth in the assignments you have appointed us for. Teach us how to love all over again, not just the Love that we know it to be everyday but the Agape love, the love that you continue to show us every minute on the hour. Lord, as you continue to work on us, we thank you that you will help us to surrender our whole being to you and as a result of doing so our character will begin to bring forth the true fruit of the spirit that you require from us and we thank you for it now. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Be Blessed

CHECK YOUR FEELINGS...

Before the enemy could try to bring discouragement God sent an encouraging word via Min. Lisa and the two words that I received were to “Trust God”.

What goes into the man does not defile him but it’s what comes out. However, if you continue to listen to someone complaining, someone constantly talking negative, constantly speaking the opposite of what God has promised, we begin to take on the emotions and different spirits that are attached to those words. I am writing about this because today I started to feel this way and I started saying well I want to, and how come and why this; and eventually the Spirit woke up in me and I had to check myself. I said “Wait! Who and where is this coming from”. It’s good that we lend an ear to others what may be going through but at some point we need to say I’m sorry but I just can’t hear about it today or better yet say lets just Pray. That’s why its so important for us to pray daily about out surroundings, asking God to keep our minds, fill us with His joy and not the joy of the world, help us to be content in Him knowing that he is the all sufficient one, help us to keep our thoughts focused on His promises and not the cares of this world, to guard our ear and eye gates from anything that comes to try and distract us from the plans that He has for us. So you see, its so very important that God continues to remain Lord over our life because He is the one who is able to keep us from falling (Jude 1:24), He is the one that says no weapon formed against us shall be able to prosper (Isaiah 54:17) He is the one that shall supply all our needs according to His riches and Glory (Philippians 4:19). He-is-the-great I AM!(Exodus 3:14)

So as my First Lady (Pastor) Mary once told me back in 2005, I am also going to leave with you and that is “…To Be of Good Courage”. (Psalms 27:14). I encourage you to allow this to be your motivational scripture for the week.

Be blessed and may the word of the Lord continue to be a blessing to you.

So CLOSE; but Yet So Far !

As I am striving to get closer and closer to Christ by praying more, reading more and learning to be obedient I can not help but to notice the things that God has began to shift in and out of my life' the doors He has being to open and the doors that He needed to shut. I am truly thankful to Him. For those of us who have a relationship with Him, we can tend to sense when God is up to something, you may not know the details of the works that he is performing but surely you just “know it in your knowing” (My Bishop -George Searight) that He is up to something. After tuning into my ‘”knowing” I began to become a little fearful. I started to think, O No! am I really ready for the great things that God has in store for me, will I be able to handle the pressure and the fiery darts that I know will come my way; Am I, Am I, Am I. Did you know that whenever you need something confirmed God always sends confirmation? Thank you God for always being so faithful. It was confirmed on Wednesday July 18th during our usual 6am corporate prayer time, God used Min. George Searight II, to confirm for us “Indeed the time of the open door is here, don't fear just walk in. Where there is lack - Grace is much more. The earth is where we should walk and we must walk in the wealthy place of the Lord. Walk in his abounding grace (favor).”

Now I don’t know how much more confirmation I needed than that! Thank you Father for always being on time.

In conclusion, we are in a new season a season of completion 2007 (7 God’s complete number). So be bold don’t get nervous don’t be afraid and whatever you do, DON’T TURN BACK. God would never give you something that HE knows you are not spiritually, financially and wholly ready for. His word says he will never put more on us than we can bear (I Corinthians 10:13). He wants you to experience his blessings with all the joy, peace, excitement, fulfillment, love, gratefulness and prosperity that each one comes with. How do I know this, because his word says that “the blessings of the lord make rich and add no sorrow.” (Proverbs 10:22) Thanks mom for always reciting this scripture to me before leaving the house every morning. God Bless your Heart! :)

So my readers, I leave you with this, Know that God is a God that can not lie, if he said it, he will most certainly being it to pass. (Titus 1:2) Be patient and wait on the Lord and Let God’s word be Yea and Amen. (II Corinthians 1:20)

Mind over Excuses ='s VICTORY!

Never be so consumed with the things that are on our mind that we make excuses to do what God is calling us to do. (Reference Luke 14:15-24)

I have fallen victim to excuse at many points in my life. There were many times when I found myself in instances saying; if only I had enough money to start this new venture, I would. I have even thought at some point, I am way too old and too short to try and make my dreams come true at this point; there’s just not enough time in the day! If only, if only, if only!

But O how uplifting it was for me once I realized that it was possible for me to accomplish all that my mind can dare to think, if only I just stopped making excuses and acknowledge that “with God all things are possible” –(Matthew 19:26) After all Abraham did make a baby in his old age, just as God said he would!

When reading articles about influential people who made it, I always desired to know the behind the scene stories on how it took them to turn a vision into a million dollar dream, The Right Way, or how did one start a small business and in the blink of an eye it turned into a Fortune 500 company. How about when you hear of couples that were married for over forty years! Now that recipe alone needs to be exposed to the entire world. :) Ok, Ok so let me tell you the secret because I know your anxious to know; Can I have a drum roll please…and the Secret is a change of mindset, communication, perseverance/boldness, and positive confessions.

The Success Potion

Change Of Mind- No longer can you perceive your self to be incapable of doing what seems to be the impossible. Eliminate the should, could and would and adopt I can and I will. Begin to see yourself beyond where you are now. Have FAITH to Believe -(What- Ephesians 11:1, When-Galatians 5:6, How- Romans 10:17)

Communication (Prayer)- This is the 2nd most important thing because without faith it is impossible to please God. (Ephesians 11:6) Once we are walking in faith it is easier for us to commune with God, hear from God and then obey God. Once HE is the center of our every business deal, of every relationship, on every venture and all of our decisions, he will direct us in the right path. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Boldness/Perseverance- These two go hand in hand, if you have one you have to have the other. As obstacles come our way we need to have that power that stands up inside of us and says, I can do this, I can over come this mountain, HE that sits on the throne has already given me the victory over every situation that comes to destroy me. Boldness to stand in your enemy’s face and with confidence confess that God has not given me the spirit of fear, but of love peace and a sound mind. (II Timothy 1:7) That’s when perseverance comes in and reminds you of the Prize that is before you.

Confessions- What so ever you sow, that shall you also reap. (Galatians 6:7) Therefore let your lips sow into your heart, your mind, your spirit and the atmosphere, the promises that God has already spoken over your life.
Sow the promises of God:

*HE said he would make me the head and not the tale, above and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13)
*HE said he will supply all my needs according to his riches and his Glory (Philippians 4:19)
*HE said he would bless those who bless me and curse those who curse me
(Genesis 12:2)
*HE said he would give me peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7 )
*HE said he would never leave me nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5)

There are over 3000 promises that HE has spoken. You don’t have to know all of them but get a few of them and meditate and declare them on a regular basis and because these promises are TRUE allow them to be your confessions and they will bring about a change of mind, communication and boldness.

So between you and myself, I leave us both with these words: LET TODAY BE THE START OF A NEW JOURNEY! Be encouraged and go after ALL that God has in store for you.

S.A.W.

Welcome

Ok so why did I want to create a blog, outside of it being the “It thing to do”, I simply wanted to create a place to share some of my greatest thoughts and some of my greatest divine experiences. This will be known as the home of my public journal. So feel free to have a cup of tea and get ready to be enlightened to what you may call the impossible. -Be Blessed
